Just the Beginning

India is rising. In April, a man started a movement against corruption & demanded “Jan Lokpal Bill”. A myriad of thousand people joined to support him raising voices against Corruption. People gathered in parks, took part in rallies, forwarded mails & protested via every other form. Being born in 80’s I had never seen any such movement. I live in a Digital age, where people make friends on Facebook & Twitter. It’s an era where one not only gets job online but also gets married through internet. Today, nobody likes to take the pain to go out for playing Sports rather prefers games on the Smartphone. I would go to Malls on the weekend not to buy grocery, it has been ordered online already, but to have Ice Cream only. I have never expected that I would ever experience any revolution or movement. I never thought that our citizen will come out on the streets to protest. But the whole perception changed overnight. I know this is just the beginning . In an attempt to pretend myse

999 Promising careers

“ The recession hits the globe.” “Indian Rupee at its historic low, crosses 52 per US dollar.” “ India ’s inflation exceeded 10 percent.” The above headlines are good enough for a middle class man to have nightmares. The mere thought of recession leads to jolt of losing one’s job. The only concern of my or any other middle class commoner today is to pay EMI on time, pay the school fees, to bear the expense of basic necessities & to fetch my “Bread”. These headlines always came up as a shock to me. Within few micro-seconds I speculated of the ill effects of the recession on me. I fear of losing my job & could clearly visualize court summons hitting my mail box informing me the seizure of my 1 BKH flat. I quickly turned on to Google to find another career options. Within a fraction of seconds I came across at least 999 career options. I considered & analyzed every career option ranging right from teaching to research, photography to modeling & cricketing to poli

Fragrance Exotica

She looked like the princess; she seemed to be the most beautiful woman ever on the planet Earth. I have always dreamt of, to see her clad in a bridal outfit, to get her married some day, I have always prayed for her contentment, of her to be blessed with each & every happiness in life. These were the moments when she was actually standing juxtaposed to me dressed in exotic Red Satin Lehenga that shimmered and shined, ornately embroidered and featured sequins, pearls and other embellishments, which made her look the most gorgeous woman on this special day. Her palms painted with Mehandi made a perfect compliment to her beauty & she appeared captivating and pretty on her wedding day, as it was the most auspicious and best day of her life, undoubtedly. I could clearly see her wearing very basic make-up & a great amount of jewelry that decorated every part of her body. Today, I felt to be the happiest person on the occasion of wedding of my sister. Eventually I realized that,

The Critic Me

“Make yourself comfortable, you may read some magazines lying there” Aarti said pointing towards a shelf before she disappeared in her room. The book shelf had few dozen of novels, many biographies of famous personalities & entrepreneurs and too many magazines & newspaper articles stacked in files, seemed almost like a mini library. I wondered how people read. I picked one book, checked the name, author’s name, saw its thickness & then put it back in place. I kept repeating the same until my gaze fall on a book with a Maroon cover page. I opened the book & with that I reached a page; the header of which declared “April 29, 2011”. The pen inside served as book mark. I realized that it’s a Daily Diary. I had heard that many people write diary but I never knew that Aarti is one of them. Though I never like reading other people’s personal notes and diaries, still I went ahead and started reading her diary. April 29, 2011 Dear Diary, It was another usual day at
